Wow...it's American Idol! :) I actually picked up Over The Rhine again (they always put me in a Christmasy mood).
Hey speaking of Christmas; I found out a couple of days ago that I'm going to Urbana. Want to get a 'Friend of Loud Time' lunch on that week?

Sounds good! I'll be in the dome the whole time; I'm in charge of all the books of the days. Let's firm up plans when we get past Thanksgiving.
Anyone in St. Louis or with plans to go to the Urbana Missions Conference be sure to get in on this.
Aw, man, I'm now not planning to go to Urbana, but I was planning on it a few months ago. I hadn't thought about the possibility of knowing other people going to Urbana. Hmmm, maybe I'll re-plan. We'll see.
I'm calling you out on this one. Please be so kind as to clarify or explain yourself.
Is it "books of the days" or "book of the days"?
I posted my response to Guy Fandango at his site. Go check it out.
There are, I must confess, two plural forms of "book of the day" when it comes to the Urbana Student Missions Conference. The first is "books of the day," due to the fact that each day is actually made up of two plenary sessions, each of which has its own featured book, ergo, two books per day. (To further confuse things, one plenary session has two featured books, and one plenary session will feature all the nine books of the days along with a miniature store of other noteworthy resources. That leads me to the second plural form.)
"Book of the day" is not like deer or sheep, in the sense of how one makes it plural. Because there are so many books spread over so many days--and particularly because beyond being sold onsite during the plenary session they are sold en masse throughout the conference from the main bookstore--it's more precise (and, in my opinion, more endearing) to refer to the overall program not as "book of the day" but as "books of the days." So, regardless of what the official signage suggests, I will continue to refer to my task at the conference as "Books of the Days."
"That's Crazy!" :)
Totally unrelated, but I'm here to snitch on our friend LL Barkat who thinks I'm joking about my 7-year-old son becoming a superhero when he grows up. I just thought you ought to know... you being a "man of the cape" and all.
And for the record, I never click on a link that someone says is an "atrocity." C'mon, man! That's like, "Peeeuuuuw! This whachimajiggit really stinks! Here, take a whif..." No thanks.
Oh, you have all blissfully entered my Urbana world. I'm in on the "Friends of Loud times" lunch and you can find me in the IVP Center (Dave, it really is Book of the Day :)
Oh, and I busted a gutt on that song. Best high notes in the history of holy nights...make a joyful noise "they" say!
This isn't "Christmas" music, and it won't turn your stomach. It just might get you in the holiday spirit in a different way. I hadn't seen this before and just had to share: Baby Got Book
sorry for the bad link:
Try this: Baby Got Book
